J&K Govt Orders Major Transfer of Principals Across Schools
Srinagar, Dec 3: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has ordered a major reshuffle of Principals across the Union Territory, issuing fresh postings for 100 Principals as part of a wider administrative restructuring.
The move follows the government’s assignment of look-after charge to Senior Lecturers, after which all existing Principals were deemed relieved and reposted as per the new order.
According to the government’s directive, the transfers have been made “in the interest of administration” and take effect immediately. The reshuffle aims to streamline functioning across Higher Secondary Schools and ensure proper academic supervision during the ongoing winter schedule.
Several key changes have been made in Pulwama district. Zahida Gul Nasti, previously heading HSS Noorpora Tral, has now been posted as Principal at HSS Karimabad Pulwama. Shaista Bano, earlier serving at HSS Samboora, has been transferred to GHSS Pulwama. In another significant move, Gulzar Ahmad Khan, who was posted at HSS Ajas Bandipora, has been shifted to HSS Satoora in Pulwama.
Outside Pulwama, the reshuffle also includes senior postings such as Qamar-ul-Nissa, HOD DIET Pampore, who has now been transferred to GHSS Ganderbal. The department has indicated that these transfers are part of a broader effort to strengthen academic administration and ensure smoother school management across Kashmir and Jammu divisions.
All transferred Principals have been directed to take charge at their new stations without delay. The government has also made it clear that non-compliance will be viewed seriously, as the order is issued under the administrative restructuring framework for the School Education Department.
