Snowfall Prediction for Kashmir as MeT Releases Fresh Update
Srinagar, Dec 11: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Thursday issued a fresh two-week weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting mostly cloudy conditions, chances of light snowfall in higher reaches, and continued fog in several parts of the region.
According to the MeT, the weather on December 11 and 12 will remain partly cloudy across Jammu and Kashmir. Between December 13 and 17, the sky is expected to stay partly to generally cloudy, with very light snowfall likely over a few higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir, mainly during late night or early morning hours.
The forecast for December 18 and 19 also indicates partly to generally cloudy conditions without any major weather activity.
For December 20 and 21, the MeT has predicted generally cloudy skies toward evening, along with the possibility of light rain or snowfall at scattered locations in Kashmir and at isolated places in the Jammu division.
From December 22 to 25, weather across the region is expected to remain partly cloudy.
The MeT has also issued an advisory, stating that shallow to moderate fog is likely to continue at many places in the Kashmir division and at isolated spots in the Jammu division. Officials said the fog may reduce visibility and could impact travel conditions during early morning and evening hours.
