Big Update for Students: JKBOSE Moves to New Portal, Old Site Closed
Srinagar, Jan 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially migrated its online services to a new government domain, jkbose.jk.gov.in, marking a major digital transition aimed at improving service delivery for students across the Union Territory.
The move comes after a scheduled technical upgrade that temporarily disrupted several online facilities for nearly a week. The Board had suspended operations on its previous website beginning January 19 to carry out backend improvements and system modernization.
Officials said the earlier portal jkbose.nic.in remained inactive for about five days to facilitate the upgrade process. During this period, important student services such as re-evaluation applications, photocopy requests of answer scripts, migration certificates, and eligibility forms were temporarily unavailable.
The shutdown, according to JKBOSE, was necessary to strengthen the platform and ensure faster, smoother, and more secure online functioning.
After completing the overhaul, all operations have now been shifted permanently to the new government-hosted domain.
Along with the migration, the Board has issued a strict advisory warning students and parents to access only the official website jkbose.jk.gov.in for any updates or services.
The caution follows reports of fake and misleading websites circulating false result gazettes and unauthorized information related to Class 10th and 12th examinations. Officials earlier sought assistance from Cyber Police to curb such fraudulent activities.
Authorities stressed that relying on unofficial links could lead to misinformation or scams.
JKBOSE has informed that all key online facilities are now being restored on the new domain. Students can access:
• Migration certificates
• Eligibility forms
• Re-evaluation services
• Photocopy applications
• Official notifications and date sheets
While results are often hosted on separate portals like jkresults.nic.in, all official announcements, circulars, and examination updates will now be published only on the new JKBOSE website.
Students who were unable to submit applications during the shutdown period have been advised to revisit the portal and complete their pending processes at the earliest.
Officials assured that the upgraded system will provide better speed, improved security, and more reliable access, reducing future disruptions.
The Board termed the migration as an important step toward modernizing digital services and enhancing transparency for lakhs of students across Jammu and Kashmir.
