The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released an important notice regarding the recruitment process for Constable posts in the Armed Police, IRP, SDRF, and Executive wings.

These posts were advertised earlier through Notification No. 01 of 2024 under Item Nos. 01, 02, 05, and 06. The written exam for these posts was conducted on 1st December 2024, and the results were declared on 15th January 2025.

As per the latest update, the JKSSB has now shortlisted candidates who fall within the zone of consideration for the next stage of recruitment, the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET).

According to government rules (SO 214 dated 1st July 2021), six times the number of vacancies in each category are selected for PST. Only those who qualify the PST will be allowed to appear in the PET. These physical tests are of qualifying nature, which means they won’t carry marks, but are necessary to move forward in the selection process.

The JKSSB has tentatively scheduled the PST/PET from the third week of August 2025 in Srinagar and from the third week of September 2025 in Jammu. Candidates are advised to check Annexure “A” of the official notification to confirm if they have been shortlisted. The final dates and venues for the physical tests will be announced separately.

Candidates are strictly advised to bring their admit card and one valid original photo identity proof (such as Aadhaar card, Voter card, PAN card, or Passport) on the day of the test. If any candidate fails to appear on the assigned date, they will lose their right to be considered further in the selection process.

The JKSSB has also warned that any attempt to submit fake documents, impersonate another candidate, or hide important information will lead to strict legal action, which could include permanent or long-term disqualification from future JKSSB exams. No TA/DA (travel or daily allowance) will be given to candidates for attending these physical tests.

In case any shortlisted candidate wishes to change their PET/PST venue, they must submit a formal request between 1st August and 5th August 2025 at either the Jammu office (CPO Chowk, Panjtirthi) or the Srinagar office (Zam Zam Complex, Rambagh) of JKSSB. No such requests will be accepted after this period.

It was also noted that candidates involved in ongoing court cases, such as WP(C) No.2159/2024 and CCP(S) No.54/2025 titled “Deepak Sharma and Others vs UT of J&K and Others,” will be notified separately. Their participation will depend on the outcome of the court proceedings.

Candidates are advised to stay prepared and keep checking the official JKSSB website for the latest update.
