Jammu/Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released its tentative annual examination calendar for 2026, providing an early roadmap for recruitment exams to various non-gazetted posts across departments in the Union Territory.
According to the calendar, examinations for multiple categories of posts will begin from February 2026 and continue in phases till June 2026. The schedule covers written tests, skill tests, and physical assessments for a wide range of recruitments, benefiting thousands of aspirants preparing for government jobs.
As per the tentative plan, OMR-based written examinations for Junior Assistants and Website Operators are scheduled to start in February 2026. During February and March, skill tests for posts such as Junior Stenographers and Drivers will be conducted.
The calendar further shows that Forest Department recruitments, including posts like Wildlife Guard, Forest Protection Force (FPF) Guard, and other allied positions, will undergo written examinations during March and April 2026. Examinations for various posts under the Health and Medical Education Department are planned in a continuous phase between April and June 2026.
Major recruitment exams, including Sub-Inspector (Police) and Accounts Assistant (Finance Department), are tentatively scheduled for June 2026, making it one of the most significant examination months of the year.
The notification also provides a broad vacancy overview. These include 343 Junior Assistant posts across departments, 600 Accounts Assistant posts, 669 Sub-Inspector posts, over 300 Forest Department posts, and more than 650 posts in the Health and Medical Education sector.
JKSSB has clarified that the calendar is tentative and that exact dates for individual examinations will be notified separately through official notifications. Admit cards will be issued seven days prior to the respective examinations.
Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the official JKSSB website (www.jkssb.nic.in) for updates, changes, or detailed notifications related to each post.
The release of the annual calendar is expected to help aspirants plan their preparation better and avoid uncertainty regarding upcoming recruitment examinations.
