J&K Police Sub-Inspector Injured After Attack by Miscreants

Jammu, Dec 15: A Sub-Inspector of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was injured after being assaulted by a group of miscreants near Bakshi Nagar Police Station in Jammu late Sunday evening.

Officials said the incident took place around 8:30 pm when Sub-Inspector Nitin Khajuria, posted at Bakshi Nagar Police Station, was returning home on his motorcycle. He was allegedly intercepted by a Thar vehicle carrying six to seven individuals following a dispute over a mobile phone.

The attackers reportedly assaulted the officer with sharp-edged weapons, locally known as tokas, causing injuries to his head and legs. They also allegedly threatened him with a pistol before fleeing the scene.

Bystanders immediately rushed the injured officer to Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, where doctors said his condition is stable and out of danger.

While undergoing treatment, the Sub-Inspector identified two of the alleged assailants as Munna D, a known history-sheeter, and Rishab alias Kaua. The identities of the remaining attackers are yet to be established.

Police have registered FIR No. 158/2025 at Bakshi Nagar Police Station under relevant sections of law. A manhunt has been launched to trace and arrest all those involved in the attack.

Senior police officials said strict action will be taken against the accused, stressing that attacks on police personnel will not be tolerated.
