J&K College Admission Portal Goes Live for 2026-27 Session; Apply Here
Srinagar, 9 May: The Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has officially activated the centralised admission portal for admissions to Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUGP) and Integrated PG Programmes for the academic session 2026-27.
Students seeking admission in government degree colleges across Jammu and Kashmir can now register online through the official website https://jkadmissions.in/. The admission process will cover more than 142 degree colleges offering over 60 major subjects in different streams and academic disciplines.
Officials said admissions will be granted on the basis of 10+2 merit, while the availability of subjects and courses will vary from college to college. Students will be able to view all available programmes and fill their preferences directly on the portal during the admission process.
The Department has advised aspirants to complete registration carefully and keep all required documents ready in scanned format before applying. Documents needed for registration include Class 10th and 12th marks cards, Aadhaar number, passport-size photograph, domicile certificate, and category certificate wherever applicable.
Authorities clarified that category certificates that are incomplete or still under process will not be accepted during admission.
A non-refundable registration fee of Rs 200 has been fixed for all applicants.
To help students avoid mistakes while filling forms and preferences, the Higher Education Department has also established Counselling and Facilitation Centres in all government degree colleges across Jammu and Kashmir. Students have been encouraged to visit these centres for guidance regarding registration and subject selection.
Officials termed the launch of the portal as an important step towards a smoother and more transparent admission process for undergraduate education in the Union Territory.
